Create is delighted to announce a series of events this October, titled In the Making: October in the NEIC.
Art is a living part of the North East Inner City. This October, the NEIC Community Arts Programme is inviting you to a series of events showcasing the creativity of local communities.
Building Sustainable Partnerships in Collaborative Art
Date & Time: 9 October, 10am – 12pm
Join us for a discussion exploring what makes partnerships between artists, community organisations, and participants truly sustainable. Artist Evelyn Broderick, community worker and activist Paula Kearney, and Fiona O’Neill from Create will share insights into the challenges, rewards, and practicalities of collaborative art.
‘In the Noise of the Dark Day’ workshop with artist Niamh Flanagan
Date & Time: 10 October, 2 – 4:30pm
A hands-on zine-making workshop where participants will explore personal and collective narratives through collage, drawing, and text. The session encourages creative self-expression while sparking conversations about place, identity, and the everyday acts of care that shape community life.

Walking Tour with Terry Fagan
Date & Time: 30 October, 11am – 1pm
A specially commissioned guided walk with local historian Terry Fagan highlighting local events, layered histories, and hidden stories. Participants will be prompted to reflect on whose stories are preserved, who gets to tell them, and the power dynamics that shape collective memory.
