Artist Residencies and Commissions

In addition to residency and award opportunities provided by the Artist in the Community Scheme, Create also offer Residencies and Commissions in partnership with both national and international partners.

The Residencies provide opportunities for professional development, exchange, networking, and learning. The selected artist is supported with time and the opportunity to work with Create and our partners to explore areas of their practice in an environment of rigorous discussion and critical feedback.

Commissions offer large-scale professional development and opportunities to grow practice alongside communities, with the support of Create and our partner(s).

In recent years, Create has partnered with Cobh-based SIRIUS Arts Centre, Creative Places Tuam and Galway Arts Centre, The National Women’s Council of Ireland, the Hugh Lane Gallery as well as Madrid-based hablarenarte.
