Create, Fire Station Artists’ Studios and Carlow Arts Festival announce 2019 residencies

Following the success of the inaugural Create and Fire Station Artists’ Studios residency for an artists from a culturally diverse background in 2018, Create are delighted to announce two residencies for 2019.

Create will partner with Fire Station Artists’ Studios once more to invite applications from collaborative artists from ethnic minority backgrounds that are based in the Republic of Ireland, for a four week residency award based at Dublin’s Fire Station Artists’ Studios (FSAS). The Residency will run during the month of June, incorporating International Refugee week (17-23 June 2019) offering opportunities for discussion and development of work. Read more.

New for 2019, Create are delighted to partner with Carlow Arts Festival to offer a residency award with Carlow Arts Festival, for an artist from an ethnical minority background. The Residency will begin in May, and run to June, to incorporate this interdisciplinary festival which takes place from 4- 9 June 2019.

Both residencies are funded through the Arts Council of Ireland’s Artist in the Community Scheme, which is managed by Create. Applicants may apply for only one of the offered residencies. More information and application procedure can be found by clicking on the links above.
