Help us to shape the next five years of Create!

In the last five years, Create has…

  • Supported 823 practitioners through the Artist in the Community Scheme, managed by Create on a devolved basis for The Arts Council
  • Launched the AIC Scheme Artist Mentoring Awards, which has to date matched 15 pairs of mentors and mentees
  • Supported arts and cultural engagement through Creative Places Tuam, and supported 18 other Creative Places across the country
  • Offered a two-year commission opportunity in partnership with Hugh Lane Gallery
  • Supported Eight Artist in the Community Scheme Bursary Awards, in Collaborative Arts and Cultural Diversity; Collaborative Arts and Human Rights; Collaborative Arts and Community Development; and Collaborative Arts and Dance
  • Delivered Ten residencies – onsite and remote, national and international – with Sirius Arts Centre, Fire Station Artists’ Studios, The Model, Galway Arts Centre and Creative Places Tuam, the National Women’s Council, and hablarenarte (Madrid)
  • Run Five Summer (and Autumn) Schools on Collaborative Practice and Social Change
  • Published Twenty publications
  • Established the Create Reading Room: a new and unique resource for artists, community workers, arts, civil society and NGO organisations and anyone with an interest in and passion for the potential of art to effect social change. Its range of publications and resources inspired by collaborative arts practices can be accessed in-person or online
  • Implemented our Strategy Connect Create Change (2020-2025), whose five strategic goals were designed to increase the reach of collaborative arts, enhance its value and ensure its ongoing sustainability

What’s next?

We’re inviting artists, arts workers, community and charity sector representatives, researchers, activists, arts managers and more throughout Ireland to contribute to our new strategy through a series of events taking place in-person and online throughout May and June.

These sessions will focus on your current experiences of collaborative arts practice, and where Create may be able to support you further. They’ll be open and friendly events, with opportunities for catching up with peers, as well as some creative challenges.
