AIC Scheme Bursary Info Session June 2026

On Wednesday 24th June, Create will host an information event for artists in relation to this bursary. In this information session Tatiana Dos Santos, AIC Scheme Support Officer will outline the Bursary, answering any questions you might have about making an application.

The focus of discussion will frame the context of this Bursary, the application process and how a Bursary could help facilitate and support experimentation, research and professional development. Tatiana will be joined by Danny Brennan, previous Bursary recipient (2024), who will speak to his experience and the role the Bursary played in the development of his practice.

The bursary closes for application on the 20th of July.

Danny Brennan is a Limerick-based writer, educator, community organiser and artist working across disciplines including film, radio, theatre, literature and festivals. Brennan dreams through archives and his work seeks to build new worlds inside the shell of the old. Recent work includes the Food Library project,  an ongoing community based exploration of food networks and rhizomatic social relations (in collaboration with Screen Service and Alternative Pride, Limerick) which featured collective dinners, workshops and art making. Danny is working on a forthcoming project in collaboration with Spook Beore, Megalithomania , a three day arts and music festival that asks questions like, “Has this place always been a Luxury Hotel and Golf Course? What was this place called before it was a Luxury Hotel and Golf Course and could I have gone there to re-enmesh myself in the ecologies I have come to see myself as separate from?”. Danny is the recipient of Artist in the Community Scheme Bursary award and an Alumnus of the Create and Learning Lab Summer School on Collaborative Practice and Social Change.

Bursary Advisory Clinic

The Advisory Clinic offers artists 30 minute one to one advice and support on their application with one of the Create team or artist mentor AlanJames Burns (available on the 2nd July only). For example, you may want to tease out your idea, need some additional guidance on the application process, want to discuss / need additional guidance on what you can/should apply for to meet your collaborative practice needs. Artists who wish to avail of the Advisory Clinic must first attend an information session. You can book an advisory clinic here.
