Create and NCAD offer Co-Create PhD

The National College of Art and Design, Belfast School of Art, Ulster University, the University of Limerick and Atlantic Technological University invite applications for funded PhD studentships as part of Co-Create Ireland: Art and Design Research Network for Inclusive Futures (CO-CREATE), a €4m cross border research project supported by the Higher Education Authority’s North South Research Programme. 8 funded PhDs opportunities are being advertised across the network.

We are pleased to partner with NCAD to offer a PhD in Socially Engaged Art and Counter-Narratives. We look forward to working with the successful applicant over the years to come.

Information Session for Applicants

There will be an online information session for interested applicants for Co-Create PhDs on Monday, 12 January 4-5pm. Interested applicants can register for the session here.This session will provide interested applicants with general information about the Co-Create project and the Co-Create Doctoral Network. It will also feature a Q&A portion where applicants can raise questions about the advertised PhD projects.

If applicants have questions, they can contact the supervisory team detailed in the advertisements, or the relevant research office of the higher education institution they are making an application to. Applicants should not contact any partner organisations detailed in the PhD advertisements directly about the studentships.

About Co-Create

Co-Create brings together an all-island network of designers, artists, industry partners, community groups, public bodies and cultural institutions. The network will collectively apply art and design research methods to transform the way we co-create new approaches to our most pressing societal challenges across public service delivery, healthcare, climate action and inclusive heritage. The Co-Create Doctoral Network will offer opportunities for PhD students to develop new collaborative research projects with an extensive cross-border network of partners, while also participating in training intensives, research forums and public programmes.
