Artist in the Community Scheme Research and Development Award

The Research & Development award is open to artists who wish to research and develop a project in a community context. The maximum time frame is 4 months. The maximum amount awarded is €1,000.

Artist in the Community Scheme Research and Development/Mentoring Award – including an enhanced award opportunity for an artist from a minority ethnic background

The Research & Development Award with Mentoring is open to artists who wish to develop a community based project and who have identified an artist mentor they want to work with a during the research and development strand. The maximum award is €1500, which includes €500 fee payable to the mentor. Maximum time frame is 4 months.

NEW: Create have also introduced one R&D Award with Mentoring specifically for an artist from a minority ethnic background. This award offers additional funding and a slightly longer timeframe. This Research & Development Award with mentoring is for an artist from a minority ethnic background who wishes to develop a community based project and who has identified an artist mentor they want to work with during the research and development phase. The maximum award is €2,750 of which a maximum of €1,000 is specifically to cover the cost of engaging a mentor. The time frame should be no longer than 5 months.

While there is one R&D award with Mentoring ring-fenced for an artist from a minority ethnic background in each round, all applications for this award will also be considered for the regular Research & Development Award with mentoring.

Artist in the Community Project Realisation Award

The Project Realisation award is open to communities of interest or place (or their representative organisations), planning a project with an artist of between 6 weeks and 5 months duration with a maximum award of €5000, or between 6 months and 9 months with a maximum award of €10,000.

2019 Deadlines: (Round 1) Monday 25 March; (Round 2) Monday 29 July.
