The theme for SuperMassiveBlackHole's final issue of 2009 is OPEN, so there is no specific subject as with previous issues. Issue 3 will accept the usual 1 to 3 images for the theme section, this time on any subject. Submission guidelines are available online.

SuperMassiveBlackHole is dedicated to the photographic imagery resulting from the time-based processes found in many interdisciplinary art practices today. The magazine seeks to engage and represent respective projects and ideas that utilise photography (digital or analogue), new media (high or low tech), and performance work (through documentation).

Helsinki International Curatorial Programme offers residencies in Helsinki for international visual arts curators. The programme is a collaboration between HIAP (Helsinki International Artist-in-residence Programme) and FRAME (Finnish Fund for Art Exchange). The aim of the programme is to provide curators with an opportunity to carry out research on Finnish fine art, to build contacts with Finnish art practitioners and cultural organisations and to develop international curatorial projects involving practitioners based in Finland.

A bursary programme for individual disabled artists living in N. Ireland and Republic of Ireland working in all artforms. The Arts & Disability Awards Ireland aim to challenge and inspire creativity, experimentation and artistic excellence, supporting artists to develop new work and increase skills.  They are open to disabled artists throughout Ireland working in all art forms. Each applicant can apply for a maximum of £5,000stg or the euro equivalent.

Online application for Fire Station's Work/Live Programme 4 (2010-2015) is now open for applications. Fire Station is a converted fire station in Poplar, London E14, that offers eleven 5-year live/work units at low rents and a 2-and-a-half year residency with a bursary for a deaf or disabled artist.

Fire Station's 4th residency programme is open to practicing fine artists who are British citizens or who have lived in the UK for 5 years. Full details of the residency programme are available from Acme's website. Artists can also complete their application online via Acme's website.

Photoworks in partnership with the Brighton Photo Biennial and Lighthouse wish to appoint an artist who works with photography, moving image and/or new technology to facilitate a high profile, youth led action research project that enables a core group of young people aged 14 - 19 to develop wider opportunities for cultural participation for their peers using innovative online and event based projects. CD:EK2 is a new initiative aimed at supporting the professional development of early career curators. Working with Stour Valley Arts, The University for the Creative Arts, Canterbury and the Whitstable Biennale, the project will offer three emerging curators the opportunity to develop their skills in commissioning, presenting and mediating the contemporary visual arts to a range of audiences. A bursary is also included. The initiative aims to provide practical experiential learning on a part-time basis over a period of eighteen months from December 2009. Cosey Complex is a one-day event conceived by writer Maria Fusco that forms a new commission from the Institute of Contemporary Arts. The event will invite a mixture of practitioners to consider 'Cosey as Methodology'. Submissions selected from a call for papers, alongside invited contributors, will respond to the overall theme; participation will take the form of more traditional forms of presentation, such as academic or discussion panels, alongside experimental responses, investigation and performances.

Market Gallery in Glasgow would like to invite applications from artists (working alone or collaboratively) for Studio Projects 20/21. The successful applicants will have 24-hour access to one of the gallery's shop fronted spaces to use as a studio and exhibition space. The studio residency will last a total of 5 weeks followed by a four-week exhibition. Artists will be expected to treat market gallery spaces as an open studio, allowing progress to be visible and also encouraging interaction.Fee: £800 in total

The residencies are open to UK visual artists in all disciplines including applied arts. The successful artists will receive studio space, accommodation and living expenses for the duration of their residency. The residency will be an opportunity for the artist to step away from the everyday constraints of life and experience time in which to develop individual artistic practice, and to exchange ideas in a creative atmosphere with people from other disciplines. Successful artists will be based for a period of either 3 or 6 months at Aberystwyth Arts Centre, part of Aberystwyth University, in newly built studios. The amounts currently awarded are: £100 per week living expenses to include travel during the residency period; £25 per week materials allowance.

The Italian Cultural Association MoCA, in cooperation with Arte Laguna, organizes the Fourth International Art Prize 'Arte Laguna'. Media accepted are: painting, photographic art, sculpture, with one main prize of 5,000 Euros per category. The Juries will select 30 artworks per media, which will be shown from 6th to 27th March 2010 at the Arsenale, Venice. Application fee: 40,00 euro per 1 work and 70,00 euro per 2 works submitted. Deadlines: 15th November for by mail applications (postmark) and 26th November for on-line applications.

The Hors Pistes film festival offers a showcase to videos and films that move away from traditional genres to blend fiction with documentary, contemporary art or experimental formats. The festival will be held from 19 to 28 February 2010 at the Centre Pompidou in Paris. Work of between 25 and 65 minutes in length completed after January 2008 in either 16 or 35 mm film format or in Beta or mini DV video are eligible. There is no submission fee and works in languages other than French or English must be subtitled in English. A royalty fee of Euro100 will be paid to the owner of selected works which will be chosen by a committee. Participants whose work has been selected will be notified by email before 15 February 2010.

Stream is a creative production agency based in the London Borough of Greenwich.They are looking for an artist working in site specific collaborative practice, who is interested in exploring the relationship between people and place and adopts an oblique approach to the notion of community. Meaningful participation by a range of community members is central to the Commissions' aims,Stream would prefer an artist experienced in engaging with members of the public and the complexities that this involves. The Commission has a budget of £10,000 and is scheduled to take place between November 2009 and July 2010.

Artlink in partnership with Buncrana Tidy Towns Committee invite submissions from artists, craftspeople and designers for 'What Else?', a national commission for an artwork that will be placed on the Derry Road at the entrance to Buncrana, Co. Donegal.

The competition is open to all Irish artists and designers. The chosen artist will have the proven skills and experience to deliver the project within the agreed time frame and budget. The project budget including the artist's fee is a total of E5,000.



Sound Art Program on ROSFM 94.6 Radio

Interest is sought from artists working with sound to be broadcast on RosFM 94.6 for the Arts Show. The Arts Show is produced and presented by artist Noel Molloy and broadcast every Wednesday evening at 7.30pm. The aim of the SOUND ART SHOW is to promote sound art and bring the medium to the general public. RosFM 94.6 reaches an audience from Roscommon to across the world on broadband with its live stream.

Artists are requested to submit a sound work on CD of no more than 3 minutes duration plus a recorded short description by the artist (which can be on the same CD), stating artist's name, title of work and a 2 line description of the work. Works selected will be broadcast on RosFM 94.6's Arts Show. Artists will be informed of transmission one week in advance and each artist will receive a CD copy of the SOUND ART SHOW.

Spring Fling, is an open studios event taking place across Dumfries and Galloway from 29 to 31 May 2010. As part of the event, the organisers are looking to commission a one-off public art work at Craigieburn, a Nepalese-themed garden outside Moffat. They are particularly interested in commissioning work featuring a performance element, possibly incorporating sound and/ or light. The performance would act as a launch event for the weekend and would then be accessible to the public either as a constant exhibit over the three-day event or as a series of repeat performances scheduled over the weekend. Fee: £4,500 inclusive of any materials, travel and accommodation.

Testing Grounds is a performance platform and development opportunity for established and emergent artists actively exploring Live Art or music, including Experimental Theatre, Performance Art, Sound Art and Movement.
