The Arts Participation Project Award supports initiatives in the field of Arts Participation.
The purpose of the award is to support proposals from artists or arts organisations working with groups or communities. The Arts Council has identified the following as strategic priorities for support through this award:
projects that focus on the contexts of health, disability, cultural diversity, older people, and communities of place or interest.

War and the Body - call for Artists

How is the body in war transformed, classified, displayed, utilised, represented and produced through the visual art form? What do these visual forms show us about war and its transformative power? To what extent does the artist embody war through the lived creative process? The War and the Body exhibition explores the intertwining of war and body in the sculpture, drawing, painting, photography and installation art work of contemporary artists. If you would like to be included in the exhibition please email at least 3 examples of relevant works for the exhibition, a synopsis of why your work is appropriate for the exhibition; a CV and biog; details of your availability between 8th and 13th June 2010. Shortlisted applicants will be notified by 9th April . The exhibition is running in coordination with the War and Body Conference taking place in June 2010 at London War Museum.

Marmalade, publishers of visual theory, would like to invite artist film makers to submit film and video works for publication on their new artists film and video dvd label: Filmarmalade. Every year they will publish a series of films, selected through a process of invited and open submission. Each dvd will include one film only, however long or short, so as to maintain the individuality of each work and will be published as a limited edition.

The Centro Cultural Montehermoso Kulturunea, in accordance with its desire to support creation and research in contemporary art and thought, announces a call for entries for a series of grants. The objective of this initiative, which is promoted by the Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council, is to facilitate the production of thirteen selected projects in the following categorieMs: Art Project Production, Curatorship, Research and Film Scripts. Authors of any nationality, regardless of age, can present their projects individually or collectively.

The Guesthouse Residency Programme

Applications are invited for residencies at The Guesthouse project space in Cork. The Guesthouse operates an artist residency programme which allows artists to develop projects at/for The Guesthouse and in the broader context of Cork city. Residencies are facilitated by a self-contained apartment and a flexible working space that encourage opportunities to meet and engage with other artists. This space can also be used for exhibition of work.
Artists are encouraged to contribute to the Guesthouse programme during their tenure by offering to either host a lunch, do a presentation, workshop, performance or exhibition. Residencies are open to individual artists, independent curators and other cultural producers, as well as organisations that work with artists. Applications should include a CV, brief proposal and samples of work.
