A short but intensive dive into the worlds of communication, dialogue and connections between people. How can we care for the people around us? How does this affect our skills in collaboration? Stories to be Danced: Ronald K. Brown hosted a multidisciplinary CPD workshop May 12, 2009

Create in association with Dublin Dance Festival hosted a continuing professional development workshop: Stories to be Danced on May 12, 2009. Ronald K. Brown, Artistic Director of Evidence, A Dance Company, hosted a 2-hour workshop exploring the relationships between memories, storytelling and movement. This workshop was open to artists from all art form disciplines and community practitioners who wished to expand their understanding of dance movement and the spoken word. Mark O’Halloran (Garage, Adam and Paul) and writer, theatre and film maker Madani Younis host CPD writing workshop

Create in partnership with Filmbase hosted a Continuing Professional Development Workshop, Writing Contemporary Ireland, on 11 March 2009 at Filmbase, Curved Street Building, Temple Bar, Dublin 2, 10am-3pm.

The workshop is co-hosted by actor, writer and film maker Mark O’Halloran (Garage, Adam and Paul), and writer, theatre and film maker Madani Younis. €40. Book by Friday March 6th. Collaborative Arts: Community, Authorship and Practice

Create in partnership with the Arts Offices of Offaly, Westmeath, Laois and Longford presented a day long event, Collaborative Arts: Community, Authorship and Practice on 3rd December, 10 - 5pm at the Tuar Ard Arts Centre, Moate, Co. Westmeath.

A free panel discussion was chaired by visual artist and curator Michelle Browne, with artists Michael Fortune (film maker and visual artist), Deirdre O' Mahony (visual artist), Martina Coyle (visual artist) Mary O’Sullivan (Cork Traveller Womens Network ) and Feidlim Cannon (co-artistic director, Brokentalkers). The panel discussion questioned and explored ideas of community participation and shared authorship. Workshops were held on collaborative theatre-making and on evaluation as a creative planning tool. More details here. The day was in two parts. 

Video Podcasting by The Bubble in partnership with Project Arts

This covered aspects of video podcast production and distribution. It was conducted by Tim Duggan and John Callaghan of Mercury Boy. Mercury Boy are the producers of TheBubble.ie, Ireland's first video podcast. Mercury Boy now produces video podcast content for the Irish Times website. Both John and Tim have experience conducting video production workshops at the Axis centre in Ballymun, and John has also taught video courses in the University of Limerick. The course covered: Podcast Planning and Production, Audio Recording and Editing, Video Recording and Editing, Formatting for the web, Web distribution and marketing, Basic website development.  

Continuing Professional Development Workshop 2: David Collins: From Context to Exhibition

Create in partnership with the Regional Culture Centre Letterkenny, Donegal Date: 9 – 10 September 2008 Venue: Regional Culture Centre, Letterkenny. This second workshop took place in partnership with the Regional Culture Centre, Letterkenny. The workshop explored how collaborative arts projects can be transferred from the context of production (the community) to exhibition and retain integrity.More It will be conducted by artist David Collins http://www.davidcollins.info/.
