Visual Artists Expressions of Interest, Trinity House and Create
Create, the national development agency for collaborative arts, on behalf of the Irish Youth Justice Service and The fee for the project is 2,000 Euros plus 500.00 Euros materials budget. A panel of peer artists and representatives of Trinity House and the Irish Youth Justice Service will oversee the decision making process. A total of 3 artists will be appointed. All artists will be expected to work in residence for a period of 6 weeks (2 hours per week), commencing February 25th. Artists can select to work these hours in the evening or on Saturdays There will be opportunities for the three appointed artists to share practice in a supported process led by Create. Context Trinity House School, Oberstown, Lusk, Co. The school has a capacity to accommodate 24 boys, with an additional 3 places available in the school’s stepdown facility. Trinity House is designed as 3 house units, each of which can accommodate 8 boys. Each unit incorporates bedrooms, living space, kitchens, staff rooms and outdoor secure recreation areas. The school's ethos, as with the other detention schools, is one of individualised care, education/training and rehabilitation for each child.
