Vital Signs was a programme of arts and health events taking place in Dublin in October 2009. It included a one-day conference in the Royal College of Physicians, a national exhibition in five venues in Dublin 8, and a series of opinion pieces about arts and health practice. Diverse Designs – a three day exploration of the role of design in promoting cultural diversity
Presented by Create, Factory Space and ICAD and supported by Royal Netherlands Embassy and NCAD Gallery Dates: 26, 27 and 28 May 2009

Lecture, Workshop, Exhibition: In a variety of ways, both practical and philosophical, the events focused on different aspects of how design can be used to promote cultural diversity and how design can extend beyond local and conventional visual frames of reference.  
 

Stories to be Danced: Ronald K. Brown to host multidisciplinary CPD workshop on May 12
Create in association with Dublin Dance Festival are hosting a continuing professional development (CPD) workshop: Stories to be Danced. Ronald K. Brown, Artistic Director of Evidence, A Dance Company, will host a 2-hour workshop exploring the relationships between memories, storytelling and movement. This workshop is open to artists from all art form disciplines and community practitioners who wish to expand their understanding of dance movement and the spoken word. Season of films on migration and dislocation with an accompanying series of workshops. Moving Worlds was an initiative of FOMACS (Forum on Migration and Communications, DIT) in partnership with Create, the national development agency for collaborative arts, Instituto Cervantes, Goethe Institute and Austrian Embassy.

See full programme. In particular the showing on the 5 June was of interest to artists working collaboratively. Trouble Sleeping (2008) Director Robert Rae was present at the screening along with Helen Trew, Community Producer, and Ghazi Hussein, scriptwriter, to introduce the film.
