Advisory Services: Organisations
Create provides advice and support to individual artists and to arts organisations in a variety of ways. Create has also provided space, office facilities and/or incubation services to a number of companies.
Arts & Disability Ireland
The arts organisation Arts & Disability Ireland was established as a voluntary committee under the name Very Special Arts (VSA) in 1985. VSA Ireland operated within the artistic programme of City Arts Centre (Dublin) until 1998, when the organisation was officially incorporated. In 2001, VSA Ireland changed its legal name to Arts & Disability Ireland (ADI).
ADI experienced major changes in the organisation during 2002 and 2003. The closure of the City Arts Centre as the administrative base for ADI and the organisation name change, in 2003, instigated significant change in the operations of the organisation.
In the latter half of 2003, having lost its staff, ADI engaged Create to manage their administrative and planning needs. Create provided both an administrative base and support services to ADI until 2010, including managing the recruitment of the current ADI director Pádraig Naughton.
Arts & Disability Ireland (ADI) is a national arts development organisation striving to promote the engagement of people with disabilities in the arts at the highest level, as audience members, artists, performers, participants, advisors and employees.
Arambe
In February 2004, Arambe Productions was officially launched. It was the first African Theatre Company in Ireland and was founded by Bisi Adigun. Create supported the development of Arambe through office facilities and related administrative services.
